CQM Philosophy

The CQM Philosophy is based on an Integrated Total Quality Management Mindset for Construction Related Organizations with a particular focus on improving their Construction Project Management for better Project Output and Business Outcomes.

The CQM Philosophy is to share knowledge and collaborate on best practices to improve the Construction Industry as a Construction Community with more innovative solutions for a constructive positive competition for excellence rather than a blind negative destructive competition to beat each other in bidding processes.

Project Management Institutes‘ promotion of new enablers for Project Economy to strengthen society by enabling organizations and empowering individuals to make ideas a reality is openly adopted by the CQM Community. These Project Economy enablers are Collaboration, Teamwork, Determination, Vision, Growth, Change, Innovation, Community, and Outcomes!

CQM Philosophy based on PMI

Blue Ocean Strategy

Considering the Blue Ocean Strategy approach introduced by Chan Kim, the CQM Philosophy promotes competition in uncontested market spaces to break the value-cost trade-off to align the Construction Project Management System of the organization’s activities in pursuit of differentiation for higher value at a lower cost.

Introducing best practices and the newest innovative solutions to our CQM Community will make each of our organizations stronger in its own niche market as our construction community grows stronger together. We compete with each other and ourselves to be better than we were yesterday!

CQM and PMI-ism

CQM Community was developed by Project Management Professionals that understood the “Professional” aspect of their PMP Certification. To be a PMP is a step further than just selecting Project Management as your profession. As the late Rita Mulcahy, author of many PMP Exam Prep books, taught us that a Project Management Professional means to be proficient in the use of all tools and techniques per PMBoK Freamwork per the Ten Knowledge Areas and possess the following traits:

  1. Abide by a strict Ethical Code and Professional Conduct
  2. Develop Interpersonal Skills to Develop Project Teams
  3. Keep learning and promoting knowledge sharing as you collaborate
  4. Give back to the community by teaching and volunteering
  5. Strive to be the best in class by being passionate about your profession

As Steven Covey states in his book the 8th Habit, CQM Professionals are PMPs that have found their voice and passion in promoting Quality Excellence in their profession and organizations.

Business Best Practices

CQM Experts are well aware of the best practices available to the industry and they are promoted and introduced first-hand with no reservations. CQM Philosophy is based on introducing the best and even stepping aside if a better alternative is found to take on this mission to help and assist.

There are new Best Practices introduced for the success of Construction Related businesses every day, therefore the CQM Community is continually in the process of evaluating and fitting those practices in its Framework and Methodology.

In this section, the major key players in forming the CQM Philosophy are introduced and referenced. It is our intention to give credit to the originators and authors of each idea and practice as part of our ethical and professional conduct.
