How many CQM Meetings are there?

CQM Meetings structured as part of the CQM Framework recommends various meetings at different stages and levels to ensure an integrated quality management system.

The number of these meetings might seem overwhelming and a waste of time for top Quality Managers and Quality Directors. However, the CQM Methodology is a robust system where components are preserved but methods are customized as Lean as possible to the need and requirements of specific organizations and their Construction Projects.

Best Practice for CQM Meetings

CQM recommended meetings are essential to the success of the CQM Program, therefore they cannot be deleted or ignored. However, depending on the size of the organization and construction project, many of these meetings could be done in fewer number meetings with grouped agenda, online and virtual conferences, and in form of off-line Meeting Minutes and Email Communications.

For example, having all BIM Planners and Coordinators in the Jobsite’s conference room might not be as effective as an online Skype or Hangout meeting, where every BIM planner has access to own computer to contribute to the meeting as they are following the meeting in the comfort of their office. Similarly, the Quality Manager doesn’t have to actively participate in the BIM coordination as it has to be done by a professional BIM Modeler but will listen in to watch for Quality Issues and Risks Concerns.

CQM Methodology Meetings

As mentioned before, CQM Methodology is based on USACE CQM-C Methodology with adjustments and improvements considering Project Management Professionalism and Business Administration Best Practices. Therefore, CQM Methodology will include the USACE CQM Meetings recommendation but will require the involvement of the Quality Manager from a much earlier stage and defines Quality Manager’s role for each meeting and document review and approval.
